Haryana to constitute new body to improve governance

Chandigarh, June 2 (PTI) On the lines of Centre's National Innovation Council, the Haryana government today announced to setup a State Innovation Council (SIC) to create a roadmap for innovations in order to improve governance in the state. Setting up of the Council will be a way forward in the roadmap to provide solutions related to basic human needs and and also in effective delivery of services, state Chief Secretary Urvashi Gulati said today.

Chandigarh, June 2 (PTI) On the lines of Centre's National Innovation Council, the Haryana government today announced to setup a State Innovation Council (SIC) to create a roadmap for innovations in order to improve governance in the state. Setting up of the Council will be a way forward in the roadmap to provide solutions related to basic human needs and and also in effective delivery of services, state Chief Secretary Urvashi Gulati said today.The new administrative body will help in creating affordable opportunities in the areas of health, education, agriculture, energy, housing and transport etc, she said. The move is in line to the already constituted 17-member National Innovation Council (NIC) by the Centre under the chairmanship of Sam Pitroda to create a roadmap for innovations in the country for the decade 2010-2020. The National Innovation Council had asked all state governments to set up SICs to drive innovations in their respective states after which Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda had written to Pitroda for setting up of the council in Haryana.
