NInC will develop platforms for collaboration and engagement with other countries to understand their views, ideas and strategies for strengthening the innovation eco-system. Under this initiative, National Innovation Council (NInC), hosted the first Global Innovation Roundtable (GIR) in November 2011 in New Delhi, India.

The roundtable saw participation from heads of Innovation policy from 15 governments across the world as well as leading global Innovation experts, and aimed to create a global platform for sharing experiences, best practices and enabling collaborations on innovation. The focus of the Roundtable was to discuss innovations for addressing the challenges of access, equity, excellence and inclusion. The first GIR was very well received among the participating countries as a global platform for discussion and knowledge sharing. It concluded with various participants proposing further collaboration and knowledge exchange to mobilize resources, creating an institutionalized focus on promoting inclusive innovation and convening a GIR 2012 with wider participation. The National Innovation Council organized the second Global Innovation Roundtable on 1st-2nd November 2012 where leaders of innovation from 50 Governments have been invited to join the high level dialogue in New Delhi.
