Ministry of Road Transport

The Prime Minister has constituted a National Innovation Council to create a Roadmap for Innovation for the Decade of Innovation, 2010-2020, To drive the innovation agenda in the Country across the Road Transport & Highways sector, it has been decided to set up a Sectoral Innovation Council for Road Transport & Highways with the following constitution and terms of reference.

Terms of Reference:

The Terms of Reference of the Council will be as under:

  1. To prepare a sectoral roadmap for the Decade of Innovation 2010-2020 In the Road Transport & Highways sector by focusing on the following:
    1. Map opportunities for innovations in the sector;
    2. Help create innovation echo-systems in the sector;
    3. Encourage young talent and local universities, colleges, industries and R&D Institutes;
    4. Identify and reward talent in innovation and disseminate success stories;
    5. Organize seminars, lectures, workshops on innovation;
    6. Provide support to promote innovation in the sector;
    7. Encourage innovations in public service delivery in the sector.
  2. The Council may co-opt any other domain expert (s) as its member.
  3. This issues with the approval of Secretary (RT&H).
